HOW I DRESS MYSELF

1st rule

THE SILHOUETTE IS EVERYTHING!

Growing up I was obsessed with Rihanna and would often try to recreate her outfits. Something always felt off when I did though. It wasn't until I paid attention to silhouettes that things started coming into place. For example, Rihanna is 5"9, I'm 5"3, so what is cool/baggy on her, swallows me up. When I started dressing for a shorter frame, for MY short torso and long legs, I started feeling more confident in what I was wearing cause it was tailored to ME and my features. I still find inspiration from others (as detailed in the video above) but I always tailor it for myself.  For you, this can mean anything from paying attention to where your hemline falls, what colors work for you, what accessory you can add to cinch here or let another piece flow. It's all in the details!

Like me, Lily Rose-Depp is on the shorter side. The high waisted jeans make her look shorter than she is, (Which obviously there's nothing wrong with that, I personally prefer to look elongated!). The low waisted jeans makes her outfit less crowded, giving an effortless look.

I loooove a long skirt look. But I've struggled with styling it because it can get "slouchy" really quickly. Clearly, Paloma looks cool in everything and does not have that problem. But to our right, her outfits are so defined because of where she decides to crop her shirt, to the belt to her t-shirt sleeves being rolled up. These can elevate a look rather quickly!
